I purchased both units to compare them and in the end pick the unit that best suits my needs and preferences. I wanted to get a new GPS unit because the built in unit I have in my SUV is outdated. The portability, being able to use on another vehicle, and the free lifetime maps are really what I’m after but decided that lifetime traffic alerts is not a bad option either. I would like to point out that whatever you chose between the two, the decision will not be a mistake as they are both good GPS units, they both have their own strengths and weaknesses, but it will come down to what you really prefer or your comfort level.
I tested both units driving around where I live and when we went on vacation in Las Vegas. I had them mounted next to each other most of the time.

I have had this unit for about 3 weeks and seems to be scary accurate!!! Got me in and out of NY and Richmond with little problem. Like all GPS use with a grain of salt but if it does route you a little goofy pretty easy to reroute. Doesn’t take to long to calculate the route unless you are in Virgina and tell it to avoid tolls to go out west on 80. The Truck stop finder and rest area functions are nice too. Doesn’t have very many of the mom and pop truck stops in it but has all of the big ones. The weigh scale one is good if your not sure were a scale is to check your weight before you go it will tell you were one is. It hasn’t froze on me at all or had any glitches. The traffic thing on it kind of sucks so don’t believe it when it tells you about delays. Over all I would recommend this unit.

I have very mixed feelings about the gps. There are many things that I like about it, but there are also so many small details and functions that are lacking on it that TomTom either decided not to work on or decided to exclude. These little things that are missing drive me absolutely crazy at times and I don’t know if I can stand them or not. I may consider returning this gps and getting either a Garmin or Magellan instead. I don’t know yet. I really hope TomTom starts addressing some of these issues.

For some reason, Garmin releases a new mid-level GPS and I have to try it out. It’s not like I *really* have to. I was using a 1350LMT. I had lifetime maps and traffic…and lane assist! However, I’m lucky enough that I can afford a new GPS every year or two and I have family and friends who are happy to get the units I replace…and the split screen advanced lane guidance was too much to resist.

The one thing that this GPS does not have is traffic. My last four GPS’s have had traffic and I have found it to be of limited usefulness. More than 50% of the time, the traffic has cleared out and you are still being alerted. The alternate routes around the traffic jams tend to be somewhat dubious.

The screen is impressive, while going from 4.3″ to 5″ does not sound like much it is really amazing how much more map and information that fits well on the screen. The screen itself is anti-glare that works, and very bright if you want it, I have the brightness at 60% and that is fine even in bright sunlight. The images are very crisp and clear, street names and such are auto-sized to not obstruct the map but big enough to read easily. The volume when it is reading out direction is also outstanding, so loud I have it also on 60%. So a solid 5 Stars on the screen and voice volume, as well as the pronunciation of the street names!

Why I bought a Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT.
I have owned many voice command systems in my car from both Magellan and Garmin. I use my gps in my car and in my truck when pulling my 5th wheel. I had a Magellan Maestro 4050 with voice command since 2008 and decided to look around for a new one with a few more bells and whistles. I spent a week solid reading reviews and was ready to buy a Nuvi 3490LMT but kept on reading about software issues and after trying on at BestBuy didn’t see it worth $400 for a few additional features.
With that in mind I looked back to Magellan Roadmaster 1700 and a 4700 and even the 5175 Traveller and just couldn’t find one that had the features I wanted.
So back to Garmin I looked and found out that The Nuvi 2595LMT had everything I like and needed and was $150 less than the NUVI 3490LMT.

I have this unit for 10 days now and overall I am very happy with it. For its mainstream feature, navigation, it is excellent. I had a Garmin 350 before this which I loved but it was stolen from my car. I had a Magellan after that which was crap. The price on this unit was great ($247 – Amazon).

After using my friend’s Nuvi in Scotland last year I said I have to have one of these! It worked great and saved us many lost hours while effortlessly assisting us through hundreds of poorly signed round-abouts. He had a basic but very reliable Nuvi without many features other than direction finding, which is the main idea. I wanted a reliable Nuvi but with a few of the more interesting features. After reading reviews I eliminated the 700 & 800 series because of all the reported freezes. I eliminated any with bluetooth functions for the same reason. After a lot of reviewing I went with the 1350T. I wanted lane assist and I wanted cityXplorer mapping because we go overseas a lot and I wanted to have enhanced pedestrian capabilities. I live in a rural town so free traffic alerts wasn’t too important but I do spend time in Phoenix, San Diego and LA occasionally so it was a plus.

History with GPS Navigation:
I’ve used built-in Honda (Alpine), standalone Garmin, and Ford ‘Sync’ audio GPS navigation devices.
I loved the Honda navi for its size, and I hated it because updates were sparse and expensive.
I loved the Garmin for being up-to-date but I hated it because it always seemed to change its mind a lot, or direct me into strange areas.
I didn’t really care for the Ford Sync navigation, as it wasn’t a visual navi. Included for free with the car, but I choose not to use it. Maybe only good as a ‘back-up’ in case the TomTom fails– though I don’t think it ever will.

If you were like me, and all these GPS car products are new, then this is the bundle for you. Comes with all you need, though the only suggestion I would give to the sellers is to have a wall plug charger with this bundle unit as well. Other than that, good product and great value for the money.

I presently have the Nuvi 3790 and almost didn’t go for this new unit. I am now glad I did. I have a number of trips all over in the next few weeks and was anxious to get this unit before they began. I bought this tablet after playing with it in a T-mobile store..i also tried the Samsung Galaxy Tab too while i was there. This thing blows the Tab out the water as far as performance goes..but the Tab has better graphics due to it’s 1024 by 600 display. But for me it was no brainer to get the Streak.I was going to get the Motorola Xoom but it’s priced way too high & seeing as my Streak 7 pretty much has nearly the same specs as the Xoom i just can’t see wasting nearly $900 for the Xoom.
The battery life on the Streak 7 is pretty much my only complaint. But i bought a car charger for it however.Other than that this thing is perfect. The screen responds incredibly well.Games like Asphalt 5 look amazing on it!!! The 4g speeds are incredible.I love being able to go anywhere & use this thing.I even got rid of my Archos 70 internet tablet after buying this item.Plus my brand new Ipod touch(4th gen) pretty much collects dust now lol.Apple won’t let you view flash based websites..The Streak 7 has no problem loading the full desktop version of Cnn & Espn websites.Plus this tablet will get Honeycomb 3.0 when it comes out thanks to the Tegra 2 dual core processor..There is no tablet that can compete with this one at the moment. :)

First off I’m not new to Archos. I first bought their gen 5 device that made other personal media players look silly and had wifi and a touch screen. Each new generation impressed me. Last year I bought the first Android tablet I ever saw, the gen 7 Archos 5 IT. It was launched in Oct 2009 with a lot of flaws, but was a compelling device. By early 2010 it had become stable and very impressive but I always wanted a bigger screen. I bought their gen 8 7 inch A70 and the 10.1 inch A101 as soon as they were available on the Archos web site. I wanted to buy on Amazon but the demand for these tablets has been so intense they have been selling out every shipment in hours or days

Performance is speedy, and I have no issues watching You Tube videos. I’ve yet to watch any movies, but that’s not what I use this tablet for. I use it for music, light gaming, social networking, email, web browsing & eBooks. Battery life is excellent, but to optimize it, I use the “GO Power Master” app. This app lets me setup different power setting modes like ‘Conference,’ ‘Super Save,’ and a ‘My Mode’ setting. There’s a few more, but I don’t think I need to list them all – you get the picture!

There has been some reviews online with this tablet that say it doesn’t turn on after running the battery completely out… I turn it off and plug it in for a full charge when it says to ~15% left, and have had no problems yet in 7 charges. To give you an idea of my frame of reference, I’ve either owned or used the following tablets: Ipad 2 (owned), HP Touchpad (owned – 2011 firesale!), Motorola Xoom / Galaxy Tab 10.1, LG G, original Asus Transformer (work). Heck, I’ve owned the following Windows Mobile / PocketPC devices from back in the day – HP Jornada, Toshiba e800. My phone is the iPhone 4.

Okay (I am writing this on the slate), the first thing that people need to get is that the EEE slate is NOT an iPad killer. Why? Because there is no real “apples to apples” comparison. The slate isn’t trying to be an iPad. the iPad, nor the slate is an e-reader either. E-readers are simply another class of device.

Shopping for an driod tablet can be a bit confusing, there are a lot of tablet options in sub $200 category to pick from. The Kryos MID-7022 (released mid 2011) is best in its class, featuring a zippy 1-Ghz processor, a capacitive touch screen (almost all sub $200 Andriod tablet devices feature a Resistive touchscreen that lacks performance in response time, and most importantly multi-touch!). The MID7022 is the first Coby tablet to feature a capacitive, multi-touch compatible screen. We also get HDMI (HD video) out, 4-GB storage on board (supports up to 32-gb microSD for expandability) and it ships with a rather barebones Andriod 2.3.3 (Gingerbread).

I didn’t want to pay twice as much for Apple tablet so I purchased this tablet and I’ve had it about a week now and love it. I have my main desk PC for word documents and printing. after burning out my laptop and don’t want to carry the weight around when I travel. I’m lucky enough to have wifi at work and home so I don”t need an additional internet source. The keyboard works better for my fat fingers than using my android cellphone. I’ve been pulling up apps and bookmarking my favorite websites all week to make it easier for me. The only disadvantage I’m having is when I’m on my home email site I can’t touch and open the emails without the keyboard popping up and getting in the way. I’ll have to find a solution for that. I do have limited knowledge on all the tablets out there in the market. I’ve only just oberve the galaxy, I pad and one other brand from co-workers. I’ve already attached the 32SD card which! was very simple for more memory. So far it is doing all the tasks that I want from it. When on the internet the speed is very good.

I have bought this tablet arround 1 month ago it works great until now. The screen and the touch is so good. Tha battery stays charged 2-3 days but it takes around 5 hours to go from 10% to fully charged and it doesn’t charge if connected using USB to laptop so you must use electronic source for charging. Last thing I have contacted the support and it seems that the support needs more enhancements in USA
Overall I will recommend this product to friend and I think it is great tablet.

The Blackberry Playbook on the other hand is simply astounding. I throw it in my briefcase. And away I go. I pull it out at a meeting or airport and it is understated and private. Will it take its rightful place in the tablet market? Not if jingoistic reviewers have their way. But it should. It should if build, function, cost effectiveness, reliability, and fun mean anything to anybody.

IN SHORT, I am very positively impressed by Sony S1 and think it is one of the best, if not the best, Android tablets made so far. My other favorite Android tablet is Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. I would not regret to own either of them, but I now prefer Sony S1 for its unique handholding ergonomics

I have had this tablet for several days.
The good: screen is bright and sharp(I run it at 40%, very good indoors), light weight without seeming frail, 1 gb of ram, fairly snappy web surfing, textured back for better feeling grip, runs Netflix.

Sometime during day 2 of using the Xoom it really hit me. The Xoom and the iPad are like chess and checkers. When you first start playing chess (or trying to use the Xoom, in my amazing analogy) you feel overwhelmed and confused. You can’t really do things smoothly, you don’t understand the options, it just is not a great first impression. On the other hand, your first game of checkers (or using the iPad) is probably going to be pretty smooth. It isn’t complex, most all the options and concepts are obvious and easy to understand and your first game is going to be pretty similar to your hundredth.

Fortunately, I really think the answer to this question is very simple. If you already have an Iphone or Android phone, don’t even think about getting the other company’s Tablet. It’s a huge waste. There are big advantages with sticking with the same company (tethering for Android, the cloud for Apple, and, most significantly, the APPS FOR BOTH. Why pay twice for the same apps and why go through all the hassle?). The differences between the Apple and Android Tablets are not so monumental as to justify losing all these efficiencies of sticking with your phone’s company. I would compare it to using three different companies for home Cable, home internet and home phone line.

The tablet itself is quite snappy and responsive and multi-touch works well. The screen is very good, crisp, clean text and images, colors look great and it has wide viewing angles. It is however prone to glare. The rear facing 5 MP camera takes good photos and while the front facing camera photos are only ok it is more than adequate for video chatting. Audio quality is good and it’s plenty loud.

I picked up this tab a few days ago after some extensive research. Was in the market for a budget tablet $250 or lower. My choices initially were the Kindle Fire, B&N Nook and the Ideapad A1. When the specs/price was put together the Ideapad A1 came out way ahead of the rest. It’s true that the Nook and Kindle Fire are dual core tabs but that really doesn’t mean anything since usability there is severely limited to be anything more than a media consumption tool for their respective vendors – Amazon and B&N. The Kindle Fire as a permanent storage handicap of 6GB so that was out. The Nook requires an additional $30 SD card since there is only 1GB user space on the device…so that brings the tab price to $279. For just $199 this Ideapad tab gives you everything that you could want in a budget tablet.

This is my first tablet (had it about two weeks), but I work in IT and have configured upwards of 40 iPads for employees to use at my job. I liked the iPads, don’t get me wrong, and while configuring them for our employees, I came to see the real benefit of having a tablet. I’m a big fan of the Android OS, so I decided I’d go with an Android tablet since it offers superior customization and streamlining.

I have a Kindle Fire and do enjoy using it (for the most part) — love the form factor, enjoy the apps that I can get for it and am very pleased with the Kindle eReader app and ability to share books across all our Kindles. But when we were offered an opportunity to check out the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 a few days early, we jumped at the chance. The Kindle Fire is great at what it does, but its custom Android O/S, non-standard Web browser, limited selection of apps, lack of expandable storage and lack of Bluetooth support leave me cold.

I have had this tablet since it was released two weeks ago. The look and feel of the unit is great. The touch screen is very responsive and HD videos look great on it. You get 2 gigs of system mem and 32gig SSD. Of course you get a full operation system in win 7. Web surfing is no problem the only site I have had a problem with is the Apple movie trailer site. I am not sure if it is the unit or the fact I am using Explorer 9.

I’m typing this review on the A500 now. I was deciding between an Ipad2 (and had actually purchased one), an Asus Transformer, and the A500. I became frustrated with the limitations of the Ipad 2, and once it became clear that the Asus Tranformer wouldn’t have adequate stock for weeks, I decided to give the A500 a try. No regrets, and I ended up returning the Ipad2.

Purchased my A200 about a week ago. It was tough to find locally and it appears as though Android tablets in general are hard to find…quantities are very low right now. I ended up checking with about 10 different local electronics chains and office supply type stores until I finally found someone that had just received 2 in.
